Let me hit you with some truth....

Are you ready? I’m about to hit you all with some earth shaking truth….

Bad people are everywhere.

Shocking right?!

Wait you know what is even more shocking?

There are bad conservatives. Gasp!

There are bad liberals. No!

There are bad doctors, teachers, preachers, politicians, parents and everyone in between.

Now you may pick up your jaw from the ground {insert sarcasm}. I know there is nothing surprising about what I just said but on a day like today you would think something so ‘common sense’ would apply.

But it doesn’t.

There is no possible way a conservative could be a raging, Neo-nazi, hate-filled protester

 like the ones in Charlottesville, Virginia. Umm based on common sense yes there could be, wait YES there are.

See everything I JUST said above. Bad people exist in every group. People don’t want to believe there are bad apples in their bunch, but guess what there are. Stop coming up with excuses to make yourself feel better, instead be an example that you are different.

We are too quick to lump everyone into one category and often forget that the actions of some don’t represent a group in its entirety.

So dear friends turn off your televisions, set down your phones and take the opportunity to have an important conversation with your kids {if you have kiddos} about what is happening. Show them how to be different. Maybe go for a walk around the block and give a friendly smile to anyone you pass by. Go get yourself a Starbucks and pay for the person behind you.

Don’t waste your time arguing on the web, be the proof to a stranger today {and every day for that matter!} that it doesn’t matter what color, religion, political party, age, citizenship status or gender, kindness can come from anyone anywhere.
